Volume XIII, No. 3 April 2001 Message from the President This year we are able to offer four scholarships to participants in the 2001 NAASA conference, thanks to the generous donations of several NAASA members, including: Nancy Blomberg, John Day (Oscar Howe Foundation, University of South Dakota), Dorothy Downs, Kate Duncan, Ted and Barbara Hail, Brant Mackley (Tucquan Publishing), Bea Medicine, Margot Schevill and Mary Schlick. Our scholarship fund was first established in 1990 at the NAASA Board meeting held to plan the Sioux Falls conference. The hat was passed and donations were made by all the Board members at that time, including: David Penney, Margaret Blackman, Arthur Amiotte, JoAllyn Archambault, Janet Berlo, Richard Conn, Aldona Jonaitis, Ruth Phillips and myself. Since that time, many other NAASA members have given generously to the scholarship fund. On behalf of NAASA and the many scholarship recipients, I would like to thank all of these very generous donors and urge you to join their ranks.
