The Use of Technology in Native American Art Study

This session will examine the use of technology in Native American art study. The word “technology” should be construed broadly and could include advanced photographic methods (e.g. infrared or x-ray photography); computer networks and the world-wide web; and computer based methods (e.g. information databases). Potential topic areas include but are not limited to conservation, artifact identification and research. Papers on systems or techniques that have actually been used are preferred but submissions on theoretical aspects, proposals and opinion statements will also be considered.
